Box Score WOOSTER, Ohio – Stepping up a division to face off with Ashland University, John Carroll Men's Tennis experienced a loss.

On Saturday afternoon, the Blue Streaks surrendered a 7-0 match to the Division II Eagles at Wooster's Aspen Racquet Club.

The Blue Streaks fall to 0-2 on the just-begun spring season.

As usual, the #1 doubles duo of Logan Langovsky and Grant Sarnowski looked good. The veteran combo worked for a 6-3 conquest at the top spot.

John Carroll lost the other two doubles contests, unfortunately, as Anthony Markello and Dylan Westmeyer dropped the #2 match, 6-1, while Luis Wentz and Phillip Gorun dropped a 6-4 match. And so alas, with the D-II rules, JCU lost the doubles team point.

Langovsky couldn't continue the momentum in his #1 bout, losing his singles match in a three-set war, 4-6, 6-3, 3-6. Sarnowski lost a 7-5, 6-2 match, as well. The #3 singles bout was another well-contested one, with Markello on the short end of a 6-4, 4-6, 2-6 loss.

At #4, Westmeyer accepted a 6-2, 7-5 defeat with a close ending. Gorun saw a 6-1, 6-3 loss at #5. In the #6 singles, Griffin Millspaugh experienced a drawn-out war. The junior from Louisville, Ohio came so close to stealing a set from his opponent. The St. Thomas Aquinas grad lost a 6-4, 6-4 duel.
