The Blue Streaks notched a trio of players to the ITA's Scholar Athlete list

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- Following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign, John Carroll Men's Tennis can add some honors to its ledger.

A trio of Blue Streaks have achieved recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Anthony Markello, Ryan Waugaman, and Luis Wentz are the honorees, all with grade point averages above 3.5 this year. All three are repeat honorees for a second straight season.

Markello is no stranger to recognition, garnering both Academic All-OAC and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition. For the second straight season, Markello made the cut for First Team All-OAC. The pride of JCU Sports Information is an Economics major, marking his third time as an ITA Scholar Athlete.

Waugaman makes the list for the second time. This past spring, he made the grade for the Academic All-OAC squad.

Wentz wraps up a nice career at JCU. After finishing his Supply Chain Management degree, he snagged Academic All-OAC honors. This is his third time making the ITA Scholar Athlete squad.
