With their sights set on a fifth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Championship in one week, the John Carroll University Women's Tennis team looked poised and ready with an 8-1 victory over Otterbein at Ursuline College Tennis Courts on April 30.

It's been 2,191 days and counting since the Blue Streaks have lost a tennis match in conference play. On Friday, the Blue Streaks orchestrated a sweep of the doubles and won five of the six singles matches.

John Carroll hasn't lost to Otterbein since May 2, 2014.

A staple of the program, Alyssa Krupp, carded the best score of the evening as she took care of business by beating Madi Mueller (6-0, 6-0). Krupp and Mia Zivkovic also won their doubles match, 8-3 — they finished their match first. Skye Harwood and Megan Reese won their doubles match, 8-4, second and Emily Day and Jaclyn Voss came away with a 9-7 victory. The Blue Streaks have yet to lose a doubles match this season.

In the singles, Day (6-0, 7-5) Harwood (6-1, 6-3) and Zivkovic (6-3, 6-3) coasted to 2-0 victories. In the No. 1 singles match, Reese came back from down 1-0 to win the next two games and the match. Reese won the final set 10-4 to secure the victory.

Voss fell to Otterbein's Rachel Ferguson (6-2, 7-6) for JCU's only loss of the day.

The Blue Streaks are back in action on Friday, May 7, for the OAC Tournament Semifinal at Lindner Tennis Center.
