Box Score After a very tough opening eight matches to start the season, the John Carroll men's tennis team relished a chance to begin defense of its Ohio Athletic Conference title.

John Carroll was simply dominant in every match to beat Capital, 9-0, Friday afternoon in the league opener for both squads.

The doubles tandems dropped a total of six games. Jad Abdul-Aal and David Sinense won 8-2 at #1 doubles,  Tyler Cole and Nick Siciliano cruised to an 8-3 win at #3 doubles, and Dillon O'Brien and Gustavo Garcia rolled to an 8-1 triumph at #3 doubles.

All six singles matches were decided in straight sets. The two players who did not play doubles for JCU today were clearly ready to go in singles play. Tyler Cole posted the lone 6-0 6-0 win at #5 singles, while Scott Adsit uncorked a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #6 singles.

JCU improved to 3-6 overall and 1-0 in the OAC, while Capital fell to 2-10 and 0-1 in league play.
