Box Score John Carroll was an NCAA participant last season, but still is looking for measures of respect.

Late Friday night, the Blue Streaks made another step in that direction.

At the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pennsylvania, JCU rallied with four singles wins to knock off host Allegheny College, 5-4. The Gators entered the match ranked #14 in the region.

Tyler Cole and Nick Siciliano supplied the lone double point when they won their #3 match by an 8-2 count over Samarth Gopal and Colton Johnson Taylor.

The Blue Streaks would need at least four singles wins to capture the match, and it happened just as hoped. Jad Abdul-Aal won an epci battle at #1 singles, pulling off a tiebreaker by an 11-9 score over Thomas Manning after the two split a pair of sets. Alex Guthrie (JCU-M) did likewise in his #3 singles match, winning his tiebreaker 10-6.

Siciliano and Cole both won in straight sets to make them double winners on the day, and their team victors as well.

JCU is now 1-1 in matches counting the fall season in 2015-16.
