Women’s Track & Field Competes At Michigan And Case Western Reserve Before Conference Championships

Women's Track & Field Competes At Michigan & Case Western Reserve For Another Split Squad Weekend
ANN ARBOR, MI & CLEVELAND, OH – The women's track & field team went into another split squad weekend as they competed in their last regular season indoor meets of the season. 

Most of the team made the short trip over to Case Western Reserve University for the Ed Finnigan Invitational, while a small group traveled to the University of Michigan for the Silverston Invitational. 

Some athletes made their indoor debuts for the Blue Streaks, while others fought their way to final marks before entering the conference championships next weekend.

Molly Brown (60 Meter Dash): 8.27
Natalie Chryst (800 Meter Run): 2:20.08
Kylie Bennington (Mile): 5:18.45
Kelsey Sheridan (Mile): 5:18.72
Sydney Wingler (Mile): 5:24.02
Aniela Balog (Long Jump): 5.17 (16' 11.5")
Sarah Hart (Shot Put): 10.81 (35' 5.75")
Breanna Berwald (Shot Put): 9.99 (32' 9.5")

First year Molly Brown earned a new personal best in the 60 meter dash in the preliminary round, earning a time of 8.26 seconds.
Natalie Chryst gained experience this weekend, competing against all divisions at Michigan on the banked track and placed ninth overall. 

The mile at Case Western was an exciting one to watch as several Blue Streaks were represented in the race. Kylie Bennington and Kelsey Sheridan placed first and second. Making her indoor debut was senior Sydney Wingler as she placed fourth overall with a time of 5:24.02. 

Sophomore Aniela Balog won the long jump with a mark of 5.17 meters. She is currently ranked sixth in the conference with her mark of 5.32 meters. 

The Blue Streaks will now prepare for next weekend as they will travel to Springfield, Ohio at Wittenberg University for the 2026 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
