Men's Cross Country Finishes Second Overall At Bill Sudeck Invitational To Kick Off 2025 Season

HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio – The Blue Streaks headed down Fairmount Boulevard just 15 minutes away for some evening racing. 

The men's cross country team started the 2025 campaign at the Bill Sudeck Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve University at the Squire Valleevue Farm in Hunting Valley, Ohio. 

Five runners in the top 25 would result in a second place finish overall for the men, scoring a total of 50 points.

Case Western would win the meet with a score of 15 points, earning a perfect score.

Leading the way for the Blue Streaks would be junior Chris Whiting as he would clock in at 19:33.71 to place eighth overall. 

Not far behind was senior Brian Standley, stepping up for the men being the second JCU runner to cross the finish line with a time of 19:49.05 to place 13th overall. 

Matthew Dienes (20:09.66) and Aiden Walter (20:19.17) would place 19th and 20th individually to secure top 20 finishes for the team. 

Rounding up the top five was senior Max Grillo as he would place 24th overall with a time of 20:39.37. 

Next up for the Blue Streaks will be the All-Ohio Classic hosted by Cedarville University on Friday, September 19th in Cedarville, Ohio at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
