WILMINGTON, Ohio – The women returned for day two of the 2025 OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wilmington College at Williams Stadium with lots of momentum and energy.

There was a lot at stake as the women battled through and through to earn a conference title and put themselves in the mix once again.

The Blue Streaks were coming off a total of seven All-OAC performances and made the most out of the second day, competing to the best of their abilities.

At this year's OAC Outdoor Championships, the women would finish third place overall with a total score of 163.25 points. The Polar Bears of Ohio Northern would take home the conference title with a total score of 213 points, followed by the Purple Raiders of Mount Union finishing second overall with a total score of 196.25 points.

Full Day Two Results

Day two of competition would get started in the field events as both Ella Gill and Olivia Stefka would contribute for the Blue Streaks in the women's triple jump. Gill would place seventh overall with a mark of 10.39 meters, which is a new personal best for the first year. Stefka would collect an eighth place finish with a mark of 10.35 meters.

In the women's hammer throw, senior Cara Jewett would place seventh overall with a mark of 44.84 meters to collect more points for the team.

Another OAC Champion would be crowned as the women's 4x100 meter relay of Mia Scott, Sandra King, Paige Munchick, and Dakota Houston would run a time of 46.24 seconds, breaking their previous school record from this outdoor season. Their time now ranks in the top five in Division III.

The women's 1500 meter run was an exciting one as well. Sophomore Alyssa Vis (4:36.51) and junior Abby Schroff (4:38.06) would collect All-OAC honors in the event, placing second and third overall. Annie Higgins (4:43.04) and Kelsey Sheridan (4:44.95) would round up the scoring for the women as they would place fifth and sixth overall. This was a major breakthrough for the team heading into the later events.

First year Sandra King would continue to impress as she would earn All-OAC honors in the 400 meter dash, placing second overall with a time of 56.80 seconds. King would also break the school record, previously held by Ashura Powell in 2018, which was 57.11 seconds.

Dakota Houston would later return for both the 100 meter dash and pick up another championship from the weekend, running 11.89 seconds, just missing the school record. Senior Mia Scott would also earn a third place finish with a time of 12.37 seconds to earn All-OAC honors.

In the women's 800 meter run, a couple of Blue Streak runners would earn a few more points. Junior Alyssa Vis (2:19.20) and senior Annie Higgins (2:20.20) placed sixth and eighth overall in the race.

A third consecutive title would be secured for Dakota Houston in the women's 200 meter dash as she would also break the school record in the process, running 24.03 seconds. It was one unforgettable weekend for the first year out of Beachwood, Ohio.

In the women's 5000 meter run, junior Abby Schroff would become an OAC Champion once again. Schroff would finish with a time of 17:56.97, followed by her teammate Anne Rea, who would run 17:57.43 to pick up All-OAC honors. Senior Anastasia Bakuhn would move up to finish sixth overall with a time of 18:30.38 to collect more points for the team.

Lastly, in the women's 4x400 meter relay, the team of Kaleigh McNamara, Ellie Kitsmiller, Alexis Berwald, and Morgan Dobos would finish fifth overall with a time of 4:05.46.

To conclude, first year Dakota Houston would win the Women's Marcie French Most Outstanding Hurdler/Sprinter of the Meet. Houston won the 100 and 200 meter dash races, as well as the women's long jump and was a part of the winning 4x100 meter relay.

It was a bittersweet ending as the Blue Streaks now leave the Ohio Athletic Conference, while laying everything on the line throughout the past two days. They will now prepare for the next few weeks as they will run in a few last chance meets before competing in the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Spire Institute.

Next up for the men will be the Harrison Dillard Twilight next Friday, May 9th hosted by Baldwin Wallace University, which will be the first last chance meet on the schedule. Meet information will be posted next week.
