Women's 4x100 Meter Relay Finish Seventh Overall To Claim All-American Honors At 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships
GENEVA, Ohio – The Blue Streaks came into the final day of the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with poise and a drive to compete at the highest level.

The women did just that on day three of the championship meet at the Spire Institute.

Final Results

Looking at the team results from the weekend, the MIT Engineers would secure the national title with a total score of 56 points, followed by Washington University in St. Louis scoring 47 points to earn the NCAA Runner Up trophy.

Rounding up the last two spots on the podium were Wisconsin LaCrosse with 38 points and Wisconsin Eau Claire with 34 points to finish third and fourth overall.

The Blue Streaks would tie for 27th overall, scoring a total of 10 points from the 100 and 200 meter dash races, as well as the 4x100 meter relay.

From one event to the next, momentum built for the women as they continued to fight for positioning and place high against the best in Division III.

First-year Dakota Houston would have herself a day, claiming three All-American finishes for the Blue Streaks.

In the women's 100 meter dash, Houston came away with a fourth place effort, clocking in at 11.71 seconds.

Not long after, she would place sixth overall in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 24.08 seconds to capture her second individual All-American accolade.

In exciting fashion, the women's 4x100 meter relay of Mia Scott, Sandra King, Paige Munchick, and Dakota Houston sprint to All-American status with a time of 46.34 seconds, placing seventh overall.

For Sandra, Paige, and Mia, it was their first All-American performance of their careers.

This is the first time a women's 4x100 meter relay would achieve All-American honors in JCU Track & Field history.

Coach Daniel Tutskey, Director of Cross Country/Track & Field at John Carroll University was beyond proud of the way the women competed and how much it meant for them to get to this point.

"Every athlete who competed this weekend can call themselves an All-American," emphasized Tutskey. "The joy the women had on the infield after the 4x1 was very moving. I'm so happy for Mia. Coaching her for four years was an honor. Her growth as an athlete and person makes me proud and for her last race to be an All-American is truly special."

Tutskey also mentions how special the moments were for this group this year and how that will help them going forward into their future careers.

"Some of these races, honors, and moments are great achievements and feel like it's the most important thing in their life, but their next chapter will be even better," says Tutskey.

"They'll have memories and friends that will last for a lifetime. I'll remember this team as a group of young men and women who truly cared about each other, who gave each other a feeling and sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves."

With another year of track & field in the books for the Blue Streaks, they have implemented a part of history within their program that turned into moments that will last forever.

To the parents, alumni, family, and friends, we appreciate you following the journey throughout the 2024-2025 season and we look forward to being back on the national stage and shifting towards competing in the North Coast Athletic Conference next fall.
