Men’s Track & Field Finishes Third Place At 2025 OAC Outdoor Championships

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Blue Streaks returned for day two after posting some solid performances from Thursday at the 2025 OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wilmington College at Williams Stadium. 

The men came into day two coming off of six All-OAC finishes and found themselves to be in the mix for the conference title. 

At this year's OAC Outdoor Championships, the men came away with a third place finish with a total score of 135 points. The Purple Raiders of Mount Union took home the conference title with a score of 210 points, followed by the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets with 143 points to finish second place. 

Full Day Two Results

Day two would get started in the field events as first year Jordon Rodman would set the tone for the Blue Streaks, placing eighth overall in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.62 meters, which is also a new personal best for the first year. 

Senior Matthew Russo would continue to impress as he would pick up his second All-OAC accolade of the weekend in the men's shot put, placing third overall with a mark of 15.15 meters. 

In the men's 1500 meter run, first year Sam Su would step up for the squad as he would take home a fifth place finish with a time of 3:55.47, a new personal best for him as well. 

Basheer Alramahi and Tyler Gast would contribute heavily in the men's 400 meter dash as they would both finish first and third overall. Alramahi is your OAC Champion with a time of 46.59 seconds, which was his best time of the season this year. Gast would earn All-OAC honors, placing third overall with a time of 47.72 seconds. 

The men's 800 meter run became a stacked event, where the most points were earned as junior Max Grillo would lead for the Blue Streaks placing fourth overall with a time of 1:54.91, followed by junior Ian Paul placing fifth overall with a time of 1:55.15. Michael Hvizdos (1:56.28) and Chris Whiting (1:56.68) would round up the scoring for the team. 

Two Blue Streak sprinters from the 400 meter hurdles would earn All-OAC honors as Victor Ononogbo (55.18 seconds) and Tony Tirado (55.19 seconds) would place second and third overall. Senior Mick Doyle would also place high in the event, scoring six points for the team. 

A weather delay would hold off the meet for nearly two hours, pushing the championships to nearly 8:00 PM due to heavy rain and lightning. 
The meet would resume with the men's 200 meter dash as senior Tyler Gast would pick up where he left off, securing another All-OAC finish for the Blue Streaks in the men's 200 meter dash. Gast would earn a new personal best of 21.69 seconds. 

In the men's 5000 meter run, senior Dominic Delmoro would also earn his second All-OAC accolade of the weekend, placing third overall with a time of 14:47.38. Sophomore Nate Julien would earn a point, placing eighth overall with a time of 15:04.90. 

Last, but not least, to conclude the meet, the men's 4x400 meter relay of Jack Arnold, Brody Hanlon, Brendan Root, and Tim Herczog would place fifth overall with a time of 3:21.31 to round up more points for the Blue Streaks. 

This concludes the Blue Streaks tremendous ride in the Ohio Athletic Conference as they will now prep for last chance meet competition for the next few weeks until the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the end of the month at Spire Institute.

Next up for the men will be the Harrison Dillard Twilight next Friday, May 9th hosted by Baldwin Wallace University, which will be the first last chance meet on the schedule. Meet information will be posted next week.
