Women’s Distance Medley Relay Breaks School Record At Tufts Qualifying Meet

MEDFORD, MA – After coming off of an impressive showing at the 2025 OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Ohio Northern University, the Blue Streaks took advantage of the opportunity and competed at one of the last chance meets of the indoor season. 

The women's distance medley relay and a few other athletes made the trip to Medford, Massachusetts for the Tufts University Qualifying Meet at the Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center. 

Final Results

The day got started this morning with the women's distance medley relay. The team of Alyssa Vis, Sandra King, Ellie Kitsmiller, and Abby Schroff would break the school record in the event, finishing fifth place overall with a time of 12:00.38. It would be the third consecutive year the women would break the school record in the distance medley relay. 

In the women's 60 meter dash prelim, the duo of Dakota Houston (7.69 seconds) and Mia Scott (7.86 seconds) would return to the track and finish third and seventh place finishes for the Blue Streaks. For Scott, it would be another personal best added to her indoor campaign. Both would advance to the final and finish third and sixth place respectively. Houston would go 7.65 seconds, while Scott would finish with a time of 7.89 seconds. 

First year Sandra King would later return to the track and compete in the women's 200 meter dash. She would finish sixth place overall with a new personal best of 25.68 seconds for the Blue Streaks. 

Lastly, Abby Schroff would come back and compete in the women's 3000 meter run and finish seventh place overall with a new personal best of 10:04.63. 

The women will now await for qualifications to be announced for  the indoor national meet tomorrow evening (Sunday, March 9th). The 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Rochester, New York at Nazareth University next Friday to Saturday, March 14th-15th.
