Men’s Track & Field Finishes Fourth Place At OAC Indoor Championships

ADA, OH – The Blue Streaks returned for day two of the 2025 OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at the ONU Sports Center. 

After coming off of two All-OAC finishes from Basheer Alramahi (500 meter dash), who set a new national record of 1:02.64 and senior Dominic Delmoro, who placed second overall in the 5000 meter run, the men came into today with a sense of urgency to place themselves in the best position possible to compete, posting several personal bests and more All-OAC finishes.

The men came away from this year's OAC Indoor Championships placing fourth overall with a total of 102 points. The Purple Raiders of Mount Union took home the OAC title for the 13th consecutive year. Finishing in second was the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace with 132 points and to round up the top three was Ohio Northern with 124.50 points. 

Full Meet Results

Day two of competition got started with the field events. In the men's triple jump, the duo of Jordon Rodman (13.38 meters) and Jeremy Frazao (13.32 meters) finished seventh and eighth place to score a total of three points for the Blue Streaks. For Rodman, it was a personal best in the event. 

In the men's shot put, senior Matthew Russo provided a spark for the men as he would place fifth overall with a mark of 14.89 meters in the finals. 

The men's mile was a competitive one as both Sam Su (4:20.00) and Mike Hvizdos (4:24.31) would score for the Blue Streaks, placing seventh and eight respectively. 

Junior Max Grillo would compete in his fourth event this indoor season for the men. After coming off of the 500 meter dash, Grillo would compete in the 800 meter run and place fourth overall with a time of 1:58.13, scoring major points for the team. 

In the 1000 meter run, the duo of Ian Paul (2:32.17) and Jett Wieber (2:32.97) would bring home All-OAC finishes in the event for the Blue Streaks as they would finish second and third. Wieber would win the first heat, which led him to finishing third. This was a much needed performance for the men as they were battling for a top three finish. 

Junior Basheer Alramahi would return for the 200 meter dash and place second overall, adding another All-OAC performance to his name with a time of 22.21 seconds. 

The men's 3000 meter run brought the energy as senior Dominic Delmoro would take home the title with a time of 8:33.59. First year Charlie Payne would score for the Blue Streaks as he would place sixth overall with a new personal best of 8:39.91. Sophomore Nate Julien would finish seventh overall, scoring a couple of points for the team as well.

To conclude the meet, in the men's 4x400 meter relay, the team of Tyler Gast, Tony Tirado, Ian Paul, & Basheer Alramahi would earn the title with a time of 3:20.61, finishing off on a high note for the team. 

Taking home the men's sprinter/hurdler athlete of the meet is junior Basheer Alramahi. He would have himself a weekend for the Blue Streaks, taking home three All-OAC finishes, two OAC championships, and a school and national record. Alramahi continues to add to his stellar resume as he now sets his sights on the indoor national championships in two weeks time. 

Next up for the men will be the ONU Last Chance Meet in Ada, Ohio for potential national championship qualifications on Saturday, March 8th at the ONU Sports Center. The same venue from this year's OAC Indoor Championships.
