ROCHESTER, New York – Championship weekend has arrived for John Carroll Track & Field and it was an exciting day of competition.

The 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Nazareth University kicked off this morning at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York.

In the lone event for the Blue Streaks today, junior Basheer Alramahi would advance to the 400 meter dash final tomorrow at 4:25 pm (ET) after posting a solid prelim effort.

Basheer would place second overall in heat 3 of the prelim with a time of 47.56 seconds, which is a seasonal best for him as he would earn his spot to the final.

After his performance in the prelim, he was recognized as this year's 2025 NCAA Elite 90 award winner in Division III Indoor Track & Field. It was an electrifying day for the junior out of Westlake, Ohio as he is named the second-ever NCAA Elite 90 award winner since Lauren O'Malley in 2018-2019.

Tomorrow, Basheer will look to make history for the Blue Streaks in his third consecutive year competing in the 400 meter final in his career.
