Men's Lacrosse Defeats Heidelberg in Regular Season Finale

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- In the regular season finale, the John Carroll Men's Lacrosse team dominated in a 30-2 win over Heidelberg.

John Carroll came out firing, as Matt Russo got the game's first goal in the first minute.

The Blue Streaks would go on to score four more goals in a two minute span, which made the score 5-0.

After several slow possessions, John Carroll would control the rest of the quarter as four different players scored each of their final goals of the period up 10-0.

JCU continued to fire on all cylinders in the second quarter as they found the back of the net three times in a four minute span. Two of them came from Berdysiak and the other from Gill-Snow.

Berdysiak would continue to have a huge impact on the quarter as he then went on the next two additional goals to give John Carroll a 15 goal advantage.

Vinny Fiorella and Chandler Bankey would net the last two goals for JCU, as they led 19-0 at the half.

John Carroll scored ten goals in the third as Fiorella led the squad with five of them. Jacob Hoexum also tacked on his first goal of the season about two minutes into the period.

JCU lost its shut out hopes in the fourth, as Heidelberg's Tyler Alexander would score three minutes into the quarter.

Less than a minute later, freshman Brody Forrest scored his first collegiate goal to cap off the scoring for the Blue Streaks. Alexander also found the back of the net with eight minutes left for the game's last goal.

JCU had a very well rounded attack as 13 different players scored for them. Nicholas Yemma contributed with 11 ground balls. Bankey was big for the Blue Streaks defensively as he caused four turnovers.

John Carroll will be in action in the OAC Tournament Semifinal on Wednesday, as their opponent is still to be determined.
