After Sloane Baumgartner opened the scoring four minutes in, John Carroll ripped off four consecutive goals over a 14 minute period. Harte (24:04), Vilsack (18:12) and Guage (12:48) each scored during the run, capped off by McQuinn's free position goal with 10:07 to play.

Ohio Wesleyan would score twice more before the end of the half, but McQuinn put the exclamation point on the first 30 minutes by burying a pass from Farrah Nelson with seven seconds to play. JCu led OWU,

Vilsack scored three minutes into the second half. Cilano scored two minutes later, making it an 8-4 game. A free-position goal by Vilsack and another score from Grombala put some distance between the teams, but OWU fought back.

With under ten minutes to play, OWU cut the lead to 12-8. Twenty-four seconds later, Vilsack scored, erasing all momentum. JCU tacked on four more goals before the final whistle to take the contest by eight goals.
