Agonizingly close to a rare win over the College of Wooster Friday night, John Carroll offered up a quality response Saturday afternoon at Baldwin Wallace. The Blue Streaks claimed 11 of a possible 13 first place finishes and authored three 1-2-3 sweeps in defeating their crosstown rivals, 167-72.

JCU jumped out of the gates with a win in the 200 Medley Relay. The time of 1:53.06 turned in by
Carly Adams,
Chloe Ruggiero,
Margaret Zagrobelny and
Amanda Casamatta was five second clear of the field.
Casamatta would come back later to win the 200 Free in 2:01.06, as did Zagrobelny in the 100 Back (1:04.82)
Megan Hawk came out of lane six to win the 50 Free. Her time of 26.41 edged Adams by .01 of a second. Crowley touched third in 26.63 to give John Carroll a clean sweep of the top three places.
Crowley would pick up a victory later in the meet by finishing first in the 100 Fly (1:02.66).
Maddie Dolce continued her outstanding rookie campaign with wins in the 400 IM (4:54.74) and 100 Free (56.20).
Ruggiero led a top three sweep in the 100 Breast, as she touched first in 1:11.88, followed by
Jessica Morrow in 1:12.92 and
Teresa Prinster in 1:13.59.
Ashley Creasap swept both the 1-meter voluntary (161.80 points) and the 1-meter optional (201.25) divingÂ
In the final race of the day, the 200 Free Relay, head coach
Mark Fino mixed up the line-ups and produced what turned out to be a victory by the designated "C" team of Dolce,
Amanda Alikhani,
Sophie Kocheff and
Emma Connell. The winners touched the wall in 1:46.86, with JCU's "A" relay second and "B" relay third for the final sweep of the afternoon.
On Friday night at Timken Natatorium on the College of Wooster campus, the Blue Streaks were very close to beating the Fighting Scots for just the second time in 24 meetings and for the first time since 2005. Wooster broke a 112-112 tie in the final race to emerge victorious by a 125-116 score.

JCU began the night well with a win in the 400 Medley Relay. Adams, Ruggiero, Crowley and
Shelbi Shearer took first in a time of 4:09.39.
After a setback in the 1000 Free, Dolce (2:01.35 in the 200 Free) and Casamatta (25.15) in the 50 Free got the Blue Streaks back on track.
Adams collected wins in the 200 IM (2:15.77) and 200 Back (2:12.43) to keep John Carroll in the hunt, but Wooster led 109-96 with two events left to swim.
The dynamic trio of Ruggiero, Morow and Prinster produced John Carroll's only yop three sweep of the evening in the 200 Breast to set up the dramatic final relay, but Wooster would get the win by a second and a half.
