John Carroll won five singles and two doubles matches to roll o a convincing 7-2 road win over the College of Wooser Thursday afternoon at the Central Tennis and Fitness Club in Wooster, Ohio.

The Streaks won the top two doubles matches to start things off. Maria Ciccolini (Green, OH, Green High School) and Meredith Skaggs (Huron, OH, Huron) handed Elissa Lauber and Brenna Hart an 8-3 setback at the #1 spot, while Amy Marchlen (Pittsburgh, PA, Mt. Lebanon) and Anna Navatsyk (Chardon, OH, Chardon) defeated Kelsey Jenkins and Erin Bauer by the identical 8-3 score.

In singles play, Marchlen lost a tough battle to Lauber (WOO)  -- 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) -- in the #1 match, but JCU handled the rest of the flights. Ciccolini, Navatsyk (by a 6-0 6-0 score) and Meredith Skaggs all won in straight sets. 

Ashley Bauer (Harrison City, PA, Penn Trafford) won at #5 singles by a final of 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) , while Athena Pappis had to go the distance as well for an 0-6, 7-6 (7-0), 1-0 (10-5) win at #6.

JCU is now 1-1 on the year, and gave Diane Koury her first win as John Carroll's women's head coach.
