Candace Pluhar is in her ninth year as the Administrative Assistant for the Director of Athletics in the 2025-26 academic year.
Pluhar plays a vital role in the operations of John Carroll Athletics. Pluhar is critical in areas such as transportation, budgeting, vendor and officials payments, and much more. She is a consistent liaison with cross-campus partners as well as outside entities.
Prior to this position, Pluhar began her time at JCU in 2012, when she assumed the in the role of Human Resources Administrative Assistant. She provided confidential support for human resources, which included preparing new employee files, complete employment verifications, establish new employee benefit packages, and coordinate annual Benefits Fair, Bring Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day, and Silver Circle Award Dinner.
She was elevated to a Human Resources Associate position in 2014, which permitted her to provide confidential staffing assistance to hiring managers across campus. Pluhar also assisted with employee training sessions.
Prior to John Carroll, Pluhar spent over 20 years working in a variety of roles for Weston Inc., a commercial real estate company. She was the recipient of Weston’s President’s Club Award in 1999.
