The Blue Streaks looked strong in Sunday's round, showing good progress

MEADVILLE, Pa. – John Carroll Women's Golf is certainly making strong progress under first-year Head Coach Mike Marcinko.

On Sunday, the Blue Streaks looked impressive, setting the program single-round record. On Monday, the Blue Streaks left some strokes on the course but still played competitively.

John Carroll tied for third at the Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College at The Country Club of Meadville.  The Blue Streaks ticketed a final tally of 324-329-653.

Julia Gulla guided the effort, tying her previous high-water mark from last season with an impeccable even score of 72 on Sunday. The Nordonia native tabbed back-to-back birdies on No. 14-15 and avoided any bogeys on the back nine to make the feat possible. With the greens increasing in difficulty on Monday, Gulla couldn't get the birdies to fall, tabbing a 77 to settle for second place, ending an impressive weekend.

Hannah Price enjoyed a breakout weekend, particularly on Monday. The Spencerport, New York native birdied a pair of par-4 holes in the first round to achieve an 83. The sophomore played a clean second round, highlighted by a birdie on No. 13, to pen a 77 (+5). The score stood as a personal best in competition, an outstanding round for the youngster. She ended in 13th for the weekend.

Chloe Holton tabbed back-to-back rounds of 85. The junior starred with three birdies on the back nine on Monday, including two on par-4 holes.

Kyah Huckleberry started very solidly on Sunday, snagging a score of 84. On Monday, the sophomore carded a 94.

Lauren Roof rounded out the Blue Streaks opening with a 92 on Sunday before providing the final score with a 90 for the second round.
