The course played tough, as a number of tricky greens can upend you. The rough was long and thick, offering challenges at times. But overall, it was a fun event for the Blue Streaks.

"Our golfers adjusted better. It was fun and sad, because we have really enjoyed having this young team this year," said Head Coach Missy Gedeon. "It has been very special for the coaches. There is great cohesiveness amongst the players and that is rare. I'm excited for them and to see what the future holds."

Senior Day became Senior Weekend for Amanda Millis. The team's lone senior and team captain has assumed an important leadership role all season long, particularly in introducing nine new first years to the team.

"She's one of the most amazing organizational people we've had on the team," said Gedeon. "She has been incredibly helpful. She has set a very good example of what a captain should be. I'm truly going to miss her."

Julia Gulla did strong work for John Carroll at the top of the lineup for the "A" squad. The Nordonia grad opened with an 84 on Sunday before finishing strong on Monday with an 81, highlighted by a birdie on the Par 5 No. 13 hole. At the end of a diligent round, Gulla concluded the event in third place.

Kyah Huckleberry worked her way into the top-10. The Ashland native registered a nice tally of 87 on the opening day before falling back some into a 91 on the second day for a total of 178. Meredith Thompson started with a 94 before roaring back on the second day for an 85, making critical putts all day. The Erie native finished just one stroke back of Huckleberry with a tally of 179 for 11th place.

Hannah Prince looked solid throughout the two rounds. The Spencerport, New York native notched a mark of 89-91-180. Just one stroke back of Thompson, Prince accepted 13th, showcasing maturity in battling back from early trouble. Alexandra Yaeger wrapped things up with a line of 98-104-202.

Lauren Roof looked every bit a veteran to guide the "B" team. The Magnificat grad opened with a 93 before firing up an 86 on Monday, aided by critical putts in important situations. Roof's 179 tied with Thompson for 11th.

Erin McCaffrey finished in the top half of the field. The Rochester native looked solid all weekend long, nabbing a 92-91-183 for 16th place. Amanda Millis, the team's leader, turned in a final tournament of 103-96-199.

Irena Steffas (103-103-206) and Madison Maxwell (100-107-207) rounded things out for the Blue & Gold.
