The Blue Streaks are hoping to make a strong start in the new conference

CLEVELAND -- The North Coast Athletic Conference has released its annual coaches preseason poll for Women's Lacrosse.

For the inaugural season in the NCAC, the Blue Streaks are slated in a tie for third out of eight teams, receiving 41 points.

Denison University took the top of the poll with eight first place votes, giving them a total of 64 points. The Denison Big Red are looking to capture their 19th NCAC title.

A season ago as members of the Ohio Athletic Conference, the Blue Streaks finished with a 16-3 overall record, with a 6-1 conference record, losing in the title bout. JCU Women's Lacrosse made an impact and reached the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, ultimately losing in the second round.

JCU Women's Lacrosse opens up their season on February 25 against Baldwin Wallace University. The Blue Streaks will start conference play by hosting DePauw University on April 4 in Don Shula Stadium.
