Men's Tennis Begins NCAC Play at Kenyon

The Blue Streaks dropped a defeat to the Owls

GAMBIER, Ohio – Life in the North Coast Athletic Conference began on Sunday for John Carroll Men's Tennis.

The Blue Streaks encountered one of the nation's top teams on the road, and expectedly experienced a challenge at Kenyon College's Jasper Tennis Center.

In the morning match, the Blue Streaks dropped a 7-0 decision to the vaunted #13 Owls.

JCU lost all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. Jean Davin and Anthony Markello managed to score in a 6-1 loss at #1 doubles, as did Phillip Gorun and Nathan Tam in a 6-1 loss at #2.

Davin put up a fight atop the lineup at #1 singles in a 6-2, 6-1 loss as the lone Blue Streak to hang up a crooked number in both sets.

Tam experienced a solid start to his JCU career by putting up some offense in a 6-2 loss in his opening set before a 6-2 defeat in the second set.
