The Blue Streaks added to their growing resume on Friday

AKRON -- Two All-OAC sweeps for the Blue Streaks highlighted a terrific night in the pool for the eight-time defending conference champions.

"I think we're ready for a new challenge, but we're excited to finish this one all strong," said head coach Mark de Swardt. "The team's ready for it. They worked hard all year and the last day is the hardest."

John Carroll is well in control in first place with 674 points, ahead of Baldwin Wallace in second place (421.5).

The Blue Streaks set the tone on Friday night with a decisive victory in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Audrey Sevald, Olivia Goodman, JJ Gowetski, and Mairin Dalziel finished with 1:46.53.

Olivia Goodman definitively defended her title as the OAC 400 Yard Individual Medley Champion with a time of 4:41.06. Goodman has won this event the last three years and joined Carly Adams as the second Blue Streak to accomplish the feat.

"I'm proud of myself for coming back and winning that event," said Goodman. "It was a tough year training, and so I'm really happy that I pushed through and persevered in that event."

JCU's first sweep of All-OAC honors came in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Grace Roberts led the pack with a time of 57.79. Gabby Adamczyk and Gowetski finished second and third in the event respectively.

Abby Calaway of Mount Union took first place in the final iteration of the 200 Freestyle rivalry between Dalziel and Mount's top female swimmer. Calaway had a record-breaking time of 1:52.97. Dalziel snagged first place in the event in 2023 before Calaway surged to take it in 2024, and now in 2025 to end the three-year duel. First-year Bree Shirkey also impressed with a third-place finish and All-OAC honors.

Regan Gunzy notched her third straight All-OAC finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. The senior from Mesa, Arizona came in third place with a time of 1:08.69.

A Blue and Gold trio stood atop the podium after the 100 Yard Backstroke. Audrey Sevald cruised to her third OAC Championship of the week at 57:23. Sevald was the only swimmer in the finals to record a sub-minute time. Lauren Koppelmann collected another All-OAC medal in this event, the third of her JCU career. Taylor Rook finished in third place and received her first All-OAC medal of the week and her career.

While Annie Meunier did not achieve an All-OAC honor in the 1 Meter Diving, her score of 422.05 points exceeded the standard for the NCAA B cut. The senior scored 422.05 points, just under a point away from a top three finish.

The final day of the OAC Championships will begin with prelims on Saturday at 10 am. The finals will start at 5:45 pm. Senior recognition will take place at 5:30 pm.
