Previously before entering in the NCAC, the Blue Streaks have enjoyed plenty of success, especially at the conference level.

The men's team have won the past four Ohio Athletic Conference championships, dating back to 2021, while the women's team have won five in a row since 2019.

Looking back at last year's performances, the men collected a total of seven All-OAC performances, scoring 26 points for the team. The women were able to replicate that also earning seven All-OAC performances to secure a 42 point total.

Throughout the season on the men's side, the Blue Streaks have been led by Ian Paul, Nate Julien, and Sam Su, who have been leading contributors. Both Paul and Julien are coming off of solid performances at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 18th, placing third and fourth overall.

Joey Naiman and Phil Coury will look to maintain that pack up front and be in contention in the top five for scoring.

Other Blue Streaks that have been stepping up this year include Chris Whiting and Chuck Reigrut, who both have had great races earlier in the season.

On the women's side, if there's one thing that highlights their 2025 campaign so far, it is their depth.

In the four races they have competed in, they have earned top five finishes overall led by an experienced group who is ready to showcase their abilities this weekend. At the All-Ohio Championships back in September, the Blue Streaks placed second overall, winning the Division III championship with 122 points.

Abby Schroff and Anne Rea will look to continue their success at the conference level both earning first-team All-OAC honors from last year. Another senior who has been in the top three for the women is Alyssa Vis, who will also look to be a top finisher for JCU.

Sophomore Sam Goodnough has had an impressive cross country season so far for the women this year and will look to be in contention for a top finish.

Other key contributors include seniors Cassie Klein and Morgan Dobos, who will look to make a strong effort in their last conference meet of their careers.

Kylie Flere has come on to the scene as another key contributor for the women. The first year out of McDonald High School (McDonald, OH) has placed herself in the top seven in every race she's competed in.

In the NCAC Pre-Championships Poll announced this past Monday, both the men (71 points - two first place votes) and women (57 points - two first place votes) came in second.

Coach Daniel Tutskey, Director of Cross Country/Track & Field at John Carroll University is ready for this group to embrace the challenge of competing in a new conference.

"We're looking forward to the opportunity to compete at the first NCAC Championship competition as members of the conference," says Tutskey. "We are proud of our accomplishments on the course through the years at the conference level, however, we recognize that we are starting at the ground floor and this is a new opportunity to lay the foundation for the future of JCU Cross Country. We're looking forward to a great weekend of racing and putting ourselves in the best position possible at the end of each race."

The Men's 8k Championship race will be the first to go off, starting at 11:00am, followed by the Women's 6k Championship race taking place at 12:15pm.
