Men's Swimming & Diving Showcases Youth in Win at Berg

The Blue Streaks rolled to a nice win in an OAC dual

TIFFIN – To open 2025, John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving picked up a one-sided win.

The Blue Streaks traveled to Heidelberg University, and brought home a 138-34 victory in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

A good number of the Blue Streaks' young swimmers received opportunities against a similarly youthful Student Princes team. 

Results

The visitors rolled to a nice win early in the 200 Medley Relay. Logan Snively, Bart Kubis,Kyle Priset, and Patrick Branch combined for a time of 1:37.99. 

In the first individual event, Zach Marinis cruised to a two-minute win in the 1000 Free, clocking in at 10:22.59. Marinis later earned another victory in the 500 Free, with a mark of 5:01.21. In the shorter 200 Free, Cameron Cook clocked a winning time of 1:50.98, followed closely by David Miller (1:52.23). 

Bart Kubis earned a win in the 50 Free, coming in at 22.94 with Cook (23.47) and Kaden Abke (24.03) behind him. Branch bested the field in the 200 IM, nabbing a winning time of 2:00.62. Abke soon got a win of his own, snagging a victory in the 200 Fly in 2:09.50. Priset, a fellow first-year, got in on the fun with a victory in the 100 Free with a mark of 48.77.

The rookie wins kept on coming in the 200 Back. Miller clinched a conquest with a time of 2:06.54. Kubis claimed the final individual event, the 200 Breaststroke, with a top time of 2:11.41. 

In the last event, the 400 Free Relay, the Blue Streaks finished the day with a winning time of 3:19.32. 

Next Up
John Carroll will head to crosstown rival and Ohio Athletic Conference foe Baldwin Wallace on Friday, January 25. And then on Saturday, the Blue Streaks will host Senior Day. John Carroll will welcome Wilmington to the Johnson Natatorium.
