Branch and the 200 Medley Relay team highlighted JCU's time in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – It was a busy weekend but a fruitful one for John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving.

The Blue Streaks competed on all four days of the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, performing solidly at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

As a team, the Blue Streaks finished in 42nd place with 6 points.

Complete results

To start the meet, Daniel Argalious competed in the 50 Free on Wednesday. The speedster just missed out on swimming in the finals. The Saint Ignatius grad clocked in at 20.26, finishing 19th overall in the event.

On Thursday, the Blue Streaks enjoyed one of the bigtime highlights of the weekend. The 200 Free Relay tallied a Second Team All-American effort. Bryce Liddell, Dom Falcon, Patrick Branch, and Argalious combined for a time of 1:20.64 in the prelims, oh-so-close to qualifying for the A final. Instead, in the consolation, aka the "B" final, the Blue Streaks came in fifth place, good for 14th place overall.

The third day was a busy one for JCU. Branch, Bart Kubis, Liddell, and Argalious worked together for a time of 1:30.58 in the 200 Medley Relay. The time missed the "B" final qualifying by just a second, so the Blue Streaks settled for 20th place overall. Individually, Kubis swam in the 100 Breaststroke. The Park Ridge, IL native clocked in at 55.57 for 32nd place.

John Carroll wrapped things up on Saturday morning. In the 200 Breaststroke, Kubis clocked in at 2:01.38 in a 20th place effort, missing out on the consolation final. Branch, Argalious, Liddell, and Falcon finished 26th in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:03.54. Lastly, Argalious touched the wall in 46.15 in the 100 Free, good for 51st.

The campaign thus concludes for the Blue Streaks. With that, Liddell's career in the Blue & Gold is completed, with plenty to be proud of. Argalious, Branch, Falcon, and Kubis all look to guide the Blue Streaks to more glory next season.
