Men's Lacrosse Dominates Quakers in Third Straight Win

WILMINGTON – A lengthy trip south resulted in a third straight tally in the win column for John Carroll.

The Blue Streaks cruised from start to finish at Wilmington College, with a 25-0 victory over the Quakers. With the conquest, John Carroll advances to 4-4 on the campaign.

The story of the day was freshman firsts. Charlie Freer, Sean Kennedy, Noah Osmanski, and Larry Voss all notched their career first points in the Blue & Gold.

The scoring started early, with Sean Keane tickling the twine first just a minute into the ballgame. Kean struck again a couple minutes later off a Morgan Morrel assist, and then the graduate student set up Vinny Fiorella. Morrell found the back of the net on his own next, before setting up Keane once again a minute later. Two Braden Zarek goals set the margin at 7-0 after the first quarter.

The hero of the Baldwin Wallace game, Josh Lombardo, got on the board first in the second quarter. Seamus Nicholson got his first assist of the season on the next one, a Morell marker. Fiorella sent home the 10th goal, getting some help from Morell. Noah Osmanski got in on the fun with the penultimate tally of the half, notching his first collegiate assist on a Keane goal. Nicholson added his second helper on a buzzerbeater Keane goal, which set the score at 12-0 JCU at half.

In the second half, Head Coach Joe Rautenstrauch put in his newbies, getting experience for some of his younger players. Larry Voss was one of the beneficiaries, firing home a pair of goals and three assists in the third quarter. Sean Kennedy also got in on the fun with his first collegiate goal.

In the fourth quarter, Charlie Freer joined the freshman scoring party, netting his first collegiate goals. A pair of Fiorella goals concluded the day.

After Jon Gaglio kept a clean first-half sheet with 5 saves, Hudson Bardeggia made his debut in the second half with 1 save. Morrell led all Blue Streaks with 9 points (3 goals, 6 assists) on the afternoon. Fiorella and Keane each registered 5 goals and 2 assists on the day. Voss looked great as well with 3 goals and 4 assists.

John Carroll returns to action on Wednesday, heading to face Otterbein in a road OAC showdown.
