Women's Swimming & Diving Drops Dual at D-II Findlay

The Blue Streaks notched some solid times and highlights

FINDLAY, Ohio – In the final meet before break, John Carroll Women's Swimming & Diving took a short road trip.

On Friday evening, the Blue Streaks headed to the University of Findlay to do battle with a Division II opponent.

While JCU put up a strong fight, the Oilers notched a 188-61 victory over the Blue Streaks. 

Results

The night began with a tie for second place in the 200 Medley Relay. Audrey Sevald, Olivia Goodman, JJ Gowetski, and Mairin Dalziel combined for a time of 1:53.91, tying with Findlay's B squad for runner-up honors. 

In the opening individual event, Ella Muzychak tackled the vaunted 1650 Free. The Avon Lake native earned runner-up honors in the lengthy event. The Magnificat grad returned to the pool later for a bronze finish in the 500 Free (5:34.00).  

One of JCU's top moments occurred in the 200 Fly. Gabby Adamczyk and Grace Roberts notched first and second place in the event, with respective times of 2:18.38 and 2:22.11, certainly a strong showing. 

Olivia Goodman registered a pair of second-place efforts. The star roared in the 200 Breastroke with a runner-up effort. Another second-place finish followed in the 200 IM (2:22.48). 

Sevald streaked to third in the 200 Back later on. The Akron native tabbed a time of 2:12.70. 

Next Up
The Blue Streaks are off from competition for the next month. John Carroll will continue training for the second half of the season, which starts on January 18 at Heidelberg University.
