Men's Tennis Makes Quick Work of Pioneers in Road Win

MARIETTA, Ohio – A long trip south to the Ohio River ended successfully, as John Carroll Men's Tennis comes back home with a W.

The Blue Streaks tallied a dominant 9-0 conquest of the Pioneers on Saturday.

Thanks to the triumph, the Blue Streaks advance to 3-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play with just two matches left in the regular season.

Doubles play went well for John Carroll, with two dominant wins and one close win. The narrow victory occurred at #2 singles, as Anthony Markello and Kevin Wacnik managed an 8-6 win. Logan Langovsky and Grant Sarnowski rolled to an 8-0 conquest at #1 doubles, while Phillip Gorun and Nathan Palinkas were equally as efficient at #3.

Langovksy won his fifth singles affair in six matches, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 score at the top singles spot. Sarnowski needed some time in a 6-3 first set win before laying down the hammer in the second set, 6-0. Markello made quick work of his foe in a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

JCU earned "double bagel" wins of 6-0 at singles spots 4-6. Wacnik, Palinkas, and Gorun all got the job done excellently with the quick victories.

John Carroll will return to action on Wednesday, heading to Baldwin Wallace.
