Rosado's Record-Setting Day Guides Women's Soccer to Win of Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Coming off a huge win on Wednesday, John Carroll's Women's Soccer traveled down to New Concord Ohio to take on Wilmington in their last regular season game.

The Blue Streaks walked away with a dominant 7-1 to conclude the regular season with an Ohio Athletic Conference victory.

Along the way, Madyson Rosado broke new ground, scoring a new program-record 4 goals in the victory.

The Blue Streaks started off hot with a nice attack in the 3rd minute.

Emily Patryzk dribbled past a number of Fighting Muskie defenders and took a shot from the left side but was turned away by Muskingum's Kyleigh Dahlgren.

Things would open up for the Blue Streaks in the 9th minute. Off a throw-in, freshman Emily Patryzk would dribble down the left side and send a pass in to Madyson Rosado, who would do the rest, putting John Caroll up 1-0 early.

In the 16th minute, Meredith Coloian sent a ball into Rosado, who turned and fired, getting her second goal of the game in short order.

Minutes later in the 19th minute, Muskingum capitalized off a beautiful pass from Marysa Starcher to Morgan Meisel, cutting the lead to one.

In the 31st minute, a wonderful give and go pass from Abby Smith would find the foot of Grace Monnin, who took one touch and sent it in the back of the goal. That marvelous goal made it a 3-1 game.

Just two minutes later, John Carroll would put together a nice counter attack. This time, it was Grace Monnin finding Abby Smith down the middle, resulting in another Blue Streak goal.

The Blue Streaks headed into halftime with a dominant 4-1 lead.

Coming out of half, the Blue Streaks did not take their foot off the gas.

In the 48th minute, Madyson Rosado scored her third goal of the day off a pass from Grace Monnin for a major insurance goal.

But Rosado wouldn't stop at three goals. In the 53rd minute, Abby Smith sent a cross into the box, where Rosado displayed her skill, volleying the ball into the back of the net on a picture-perfect strike.

With that goal, Rosado set a new JCU Women's Soccer single-game record for goals in impressive fashion.

In the 81st minute, John Carroll would have a penalty kick, where Isabella Merlo scored her first goal this season, making it a 7-1 game.

In impressive fashion, John Carroll finished off the win by a score of 7-1.

The Blue Streaks will now await their next challenge. John Carroll has punched its ticket to the OAC Tournament. If Capital defeats Baldwin Wallace tonight, the Blue Streaks will host a quarterfinal match on Tuesday evening at Don Shula Stadium.
