Today the Blue Streaks honored four seniors,
Mackenzie Pezzulo,
Ady Burns,
Jaclyn Audino, and
Taylor Newhart. They have been apart of 29 victories in their career at John Carroll.
Jen Simonetti has gotten the most out of her players in her first season as the head coach. The Spartans came into play 8-0, and if they win today they would move to 9-0, their best start ever.
John Carroll's defense would keep the high powered offense at bay for the first 20 minutes in the game, but once the seal was broken at 21:25, Case would pour in another goal less than two minutes later to make the score 2-0.
John Carroll answered back when freshman
Grace Monnin found the back of the net off an assist from
Jaclyn Audino to make the score 2-1.
This assist was Audino's 22nd assist of her career, tying her for second all-time in assists in program history. Audino is just one assist away from tying the all-time program record at 23, which was set by Jill Comerford (1998-2001).
In the second half the Blue Streaks only had one good opportunity to score and that was of a shot by
Grace Monnin that caromed off the goal post and bounced to
Kennedy Newhart but a charging goalie forced the shot high.
Case Western Reserve would add a goal with 12 minutes left and that would be the end of scoring to bring the final score to 3-1 3-1.
John Carroll, which falls to 4-3-2 on the year, will kick-off their OAC play against Muskingum University at home on Saturday.
