Carly Simecek punched home her 100th career RBI as John Carroll split with the top team in the Ohio Athletic Conference on Friday afternoon.
The senior had two home runs, including a three-run blast in a game two victory over Otterbein.
Game One - Otterbein 3, John Carroll 1
AnnMarie Kirchner took the mound in game one and pitched a complete game, striking out six batters, while allowing three runs.
Gabby Johnson would pick up her eleventh win on the season for Otterbein, pitching seven inning, allowing two hits, and striking out nine Blue Streaks.
Carly Simecek got JCU off to a hot start, hitting a homerun to left center field in the first inning.
Otterbein would respond in the bottom half of the inning, scoring one run off of two hits.
Kirchner settled down and retired seven consecutive batters. The Cardinals found success in the fifth inning when Maddie Flasco singled up the middle, scoring the second run of the game.
In the sixth inning Otterbein added one more run capping off the 3-1 victory.

John Carroll was led by freshman
Kelly Geringer who pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and only one run, improving to 5-2 on the season.
The Blue Streaks found their stride in the third inning, as leadoff hitter
Victoria Eder singled to left centerfield.
Kayla Navratil pinch ran and immediately stole second base getting into scoring position.

Hannah Mizener's single, Navratil advanced to third setting up
Lauren Cianciolo's RBI single to left field, giving JCU a 1-0 lead. In the fourth inning, Otterbein got on the scoreboard as Rachel Owens helped her own cause singling to left field, tying the game 1-1.
The Cardinals had the bases loaded with zero outs in the fourth inning, but the Blue Streaks defense buckled down and got three straight outs.
With runners on first and second, Simecek hit her second homerun of the day, giving JCU a 4-1 lead. Geringer would shut down Otterbein, retiring nine of the final 10 batters of the game.
Simecek is now one of five Blue Streaks all-time to reach 100 RBI over a career. After the two home runs, Simecek is tied for second all-time with 24 and currently trails Jamie Smrdel by three home runs.
John Carroll handed Otterbein's its first conference home loss of the season. Otterbein is still in first place in the league standings at 10-2, followed by Heidelberg (9-2-1), Ohio Northern (8-4) and both John Carroll and Mount Union (7-5)
Up next, the Blue Streaks will travel to Tiffin, Ohio to take on second place Heidelberg on Wednesday Apr. 19. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
