Strong First Half Carries Blue Streaks To Victory

The John Carroll Univeristy men's soccer team does a great of bouncing back after losses.

JCU lost to Penn State Behrend on Wednesday night 1-0. The Blue and Gold bounced back tonight winning in dominating fashion against the Hiram College Terriers.

After being shut out for just the second time in its last 41 matches just three days ago JCU wanted to make an early statement as Junior Dalton Browsky scored the first goal of the game in the first minute, Browsky kept the attack on as he scored his second goal of the game 10 minutes later.

"We had to make an impact early in this game," said Browsky. "We wanted to make a statement."

Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder of the year Jessie Marinaro joined in on the action scoring his first goal of the game in the 34th minute. Justin Miller capped off the scoring with a penalty kick in the 44th minute. JCU did not score any goals in the second half and only attempted five shots.

The defense for JCU played a big role not giving Hiram opportunities to score. Junior midfielder Jacob Lombardo played a big role in the contest,

"I felt that I had to be a leader for our team and get this win," said Lombardo.

Hiram only had two shots on goal in the entire contest.

The Blue and Gold will have their home opener next Tuesday against Case Western Reserve University at 7:30 PM
