Top-seeded John Carroll hosts fourth-seeded Mount Union in an OAC Tournament semifinal on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

John Carroll, making its first OAC Tournament semifinal appearance since 2012, won the tiebreaker over Otterbein and Capital for the tournament's top seed.

John Carroll punched its ticket to the semifinals with a 5-0 sweep over Marietta on Tuesday. Mount Union on the other hand had to battle its way past Baldwin Wallace with the Purple Raiders taking the 5-3 decision. The two teams met back on April 1 in a highly competitive battle that was won by John Carroll 5-4.

The Blue Streaks enter with a 9-11 overall record but went 7-1 during the OAC regular-season. John Carroll has won its last six matches.

JCU is led by 2014 OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year
Jad Abdul-Aal. The sophomore boasts an 18-9 singles record this season and went 7-1 in OAC play.
Alex Guthrie (13-9) and
Nick Siciliano (9-6) will also look to keep the Blue Streaks on top.

Mount Union's Rob DeMarco leads the Purple Raiders with a team-best 17 wins at No. 2 singles. Freshmen Jackson Schneider and Malcolm Leake boast a 14-4 record in doubles play.

The winner advances to play the winner of the other OAC Tournament semifinal match between Otterbein and Capital. The championship match takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2.
