Big Offensive Performance Helps Women's Lacrosse To No. 2 Seed In OAC Tournament

The John Carroll University women's lacrosse team had another offensive outburst to help itself to the No. 2 seed in next week's OAC Tournament.

John Carroll's win, coupled with Baldwin Wallace's win, means the Blue Streaks will host the Yellow Jackets in the OAC Semifinals on Wednesday, April 29.

John Carroll topped host Muskingum 22-3 on Saturday afternoon in New Concord, Ohio. The win tied the most goals scored in a single game for John Carroll. Additionally, it was the sixth time the Blue Streaks reached the 20-goal plateau.

Individually, Gina Vilsack scored a career-best eight goals. It marked the most goals scored in a single game by a Blue Streak for the first-year program. Vilsack previously scored six times in wins over Defiance and Wilmington.

JCU raced out to an 11-0 lead by halftime. The Blue Streaks received four first half goals from Vilsack and three from Chelsea Jackson to lead the way. Jackson would go on to tie her season-high with five goals on the afternoon.

John Carroll pushed its lead to 13-0 in the second half with markers from Grace Curatolo and Vilsack. Muskingum would get on the board on Brianna Bonacci's goal with 21:32 remaining in the game.

The Blue Streaks answered the Fighting Muskies' first goal with five of their own before Bonacci scored again.

Other goals from John Carroll were scored by Annamae Bolen (3), Rosterita DiMillo (2), Kaley LaForce and Meghan Harte. DiMillo would lead John Carroll with six draw controls while Bolen had seven ground balls.
