For the first 70-plus minutes, John Carroll and Case Reserve were battling toe-to-toe.
But a few well struck shots in the final 16 minutes separated the combatants, and left the visiting Blue Streaks on the short end of a 2-0 decision against the host Spartans Wednesday evening in Cleveland.

Case, which held a slight edge in shots (11-7), scored its goals in the 75th and 86th minutes to end John Carroll's modest two-game winning streak.
Molly Gradowski made five saves for the Blue Streaks, whose record now stands at 2-4. Case improved to 4-1-1 with the win.
