Freshman Julia Adams had three victories for the Blue Streaks in the 2009 Veale Classic
John Carroll battled well but unfortunately fell to both Case Western Reserve University and Oberlin College at the 2009 Veale Classic staged in Cleveland Friday and Saturday at the Veale Center on the CWRU campus.

The Blue Streaks fell to Case on Friday night by a 130-101 count, while Oberlin got the upper hand on Saturday afternoon by a 128-103 score.
Heidi Benson got JCU off to a strong start with a win in the 1650 Free with a time of 18:32.52, and was followed into the winner's circle by
Julia Adams, who used a great closing leg in the freestyle to win the 400 IM (4;34.64).
Adams also won in the 100 Back (1:01.77) with
Maggie Donoghue touching second (1:04.32) for the Blue Streaks' lone 1-2 finish of the night.
In diving competition,
Lauren Singley swept both the 1- and 3-meter boards.
Against Oberlin Saturday, the quartet of Adams,
Melissa Fillmore,
Brittany Krauth, and
Rachael Mizner combined to win a close race in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:17.62.
Fillmore would come back later to win the 200 Breast in a time of 2:37.41.
Singley once again had a clean sweep of the diving events, posting a score of 190.05 on the 1-meter board and 190.75 on the 3-meter plank.
