Milt Johnson enters his third season as an assistant coach with JCU Women’s Golf in the 2025-26 academic year.
In Johnson's second season, the Blue & Gold tabbed a fifth-place effort at the OAC Championships. In his first campaign, the Blue Streaks notched a fourth-place finish at the OAC Championships (best program finish since 2018) and tallied a tournament victory for the first time since 2011.
The 43-year PGA member most recently was the PGA Golf Professional at Manakiki Golf Course in Willoughby, Ohio. Before Manakiki Golf Course, he was the Director of Education for the Cleveland Metroparks and based at Washington Golf Course in Newburgh Heights. His other PGA Head Professional positions were at Legend Lake Golf Course, Madison Country Club, Fowler’s Mill Golf Course, and Fairway Pines Golf Course.
Johnson has 13 years of college coaching experience as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio starting in 2003. Lake Erie was an NCAA Division 3 school at the time and competed in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. He was named AMCC Coach of the Year in 2007. Lake Erie made the jump to NCAA Division 2 in 2009. A Women’s Golf Team was added and Johnson coached both teams until 2015.
Milt is a 1974 graduate of Painesville Harvey High School and a 1978 graduate of Mount Union College. He has three children and 11 grandchildren. He resides in Concord Township.
