Men’s Track & Field Competes In Split Squad Tune-Up Before Conference Championships

Men's Track & Field Competes At Both Michigan & Case Western Reserve Before Conference Championships
ANN ARBOR, MI & CLEVELAND, OH – The Blue Streaks took on another split squad weekend just one week before the conference championships.

A small group traveled to the University of Michigan for the Silverston Invitational, while the majority made the short trip down Fairmount to Case Western Reserve University for the Ed Finnigan Invitational. 

From new personal bests to high finishes, the men were able to get the finishing touches before heading into championship racing.

Brody Hanlon (60 Meter Dash): 7.18
Jakson Mazzulo (200 Meter Dash): 23.04
Basheer Alramahi (400 Meter Dash): 47.81
Tony Tirado (400 Meter Dash): 50.27
Ebrahim Alzraqat (500 Meter Dash): 1:07.05
Max Grillo (800 Meter Run): 1:53.99
Jordan Shininger (800 Meter Run): 1:59.95

Brody and Jakson earned new personal bests in their events at the Silverston Invite, competing against all divisions. 

Basheer got the opportunity to compete on another banked track in the 400 meter dash and run 47.81 seconds to win the race, while Tony earned a new indoor best in the event as well. 

Looking at the Ed Finnigan Invite, Ebrahim and Chris both took the victory in their races, earning new personal bests. 

First year Jordan Shininger broke two minutes for the first time in his career, placing second overall in the race. 

Another first year who had a great day was Justin Krile, taking third overall in the men's pole vault, moving him to third in the conference. 

The Blue Streaks will now prepare for next weekend as they will travel to Springfield, Ohio at Wittenberg University for the 2026 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
