Women's Wrestling Secures Pair of Placers at Indiana Tech's Warrior Open

Nora Mooney led the way with a second-place finish

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In a solid two-day outing, John Carroll Women's Wrestling notched a pair of placers at Indiana Tech's Warrior Open.

Nora Mooney nabbed second place and Bella Cyrkiel snagged fifth. 

No team scores were kept.

Results

Nora Mooney joined her with a silver finish in a packed 138 bracket. The Magnificat grad started things off with a pin that took just 10 seconds. A tech fall in 2:02 and a first-period pin propelled her into the semifinals. The Fairview Park native tabbed a pin to roll into the final, but her successful day ended there, losing in a 12-2 tech fall. 

Bella Cyrkiel (160) tabbed a fifth-place effort for John Carroll as the team's second wrestler to place with a 4-2 mark. She ended the weekend with a 5-2 dramatic decision to stake her claim for fifth. 

Addy Crane finished with a 4-2 record at 110, Roma LoGiurato grabbed a pair of victories at 124, finishing 2-2 for the weekend. Kaiden Boshers nabbed a 3-3 record at 131, Leslie Sullivan showcased nice ability in the 145 weight class with a 3-2 mark. Taylor MacAdam tabbed a 1-3 mark.

The Blue Streaks will host the JCU Open on February 1.
