Blue Streaks Secure First Place Finish In Division III At All-Ohio Classic

Women's Cross Country Earns Division III Championship, Placing Second Overall With 122 Points
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The women's cross country team had themselves a day. 

The Blue Streaks would come out as the top Division III program in the women's 6k championship race, while also placing second amongst all divisions with a total of 122 points. 

It was a team effort that was displayed throughout the entire race, which resulted in a high finish against some of the very best in the state of Ohio. 

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets would win the entire meet with a total score of 20 points, placing six runners in the 10 to earn the overall and Division II title. 

For Division I, Kent State was the top finisher with a score of 151 points, finishing fourth place overall. 

Team Results - Overall 

The top three of Anne Rea (22:50.4), Abby Schroff (22:53.6), and Alyssa Vis (22:58.3) earned top 25 finishes as they would work together throughout the race to place high for the Blue Streaks. 

Sophomore Samantha Goodnough would be the fourth finisher for JCU as she would clock in at 23:20.6, placing 36th overall. 

Next up would be first year Kylie Flere as she would continue to impress coming off her last race at Case Western placing 46th overall with a time of 23:31.3. 

Cassie Klein (23:36.1) and Emma Hvizdos (23:51.8) rounded up the top seven for the women, placing 49th and 62nd respectively. 

It was a tremendous day for the women as they will now look to ride this momentum going into their next competition in two weeks. 

The Blue Streaks will return for their third race of the season at the Louisville Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, October 4th.
