Women’s Cross Country Places Second Overall At The Bill Sudeck Invitational To Start The 2025 Season

HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio – Cross Country season has now arrived for the Blue Streaks. 

The women's cross country team traveled down the road to the Squire Valleevue Farm in Hunting Valley, Ohio for the Bill Sudeck Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve to start their 2025 journey.

Seven runners would represent the Blue Streaks this evening, which would result in a second place finish with a total score of 50 points with four runners placing in the top 15. 

Case Western would earn the victory with a score of 15 points, earning a perfect score.

Kylie Flere, the first year out of McDonald, Ohio would be the first Blue Streak runner to cross the finish line, placing eighth overall with a time of 15:21.80. 

Sophomores Meah Prutzman (15:32.86) and Madeline Harrington (15:37.00) would work together the entire race to finish ninth and tenth respectively. 

Senior Emma Hvizdos would be the fourth runner to represent JCU as she would place 12th overall with a time of 15:46.47. 

To round out the top five, junior Ella Julien, who made her return to the grass for the first time in two years, placed 17th overall with a time of 16:15.18 in the 4k race. 

Next up for the women will be the All-Ohio Classic hosted by Cedarville University on Friday, September 19th in Cedarville, Ohio at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
