The Blue Streaks picked up a great OAC win

Box Score ALLIANCE -- On Wednesday, John Carroll Women's Tennis kept firing through the spring slate.

The Blue Streaks headed to the University of Mount Union for an important early April matchup with the Purple Raiders.

In Alliance, JCU left no doubt, firing past Mount Union, 7-0.

Like a hot knife through butter, Maddie Kavenagh and Evelyn Deren swiftly earned a 6-1 victory at #1 doubles. It was closer for Felicity Kolb and Emma Smith at #2, as well as the all first-year duo of Madi Davila and Zoe Nicholas at #3. But both doubles teams squeezed by for 6-4 conquests.

Kavenagh conquered her foe quickly at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Deren dubbed a 6-2, 6-0 win at #2. Kolb started a bit slower at #3, but warmed up quickly in a 6-4, 6-0 victory.

Davila experienced the most difficult fight of the day at #4. But the Chagrin Falls native snuck by her foe in the first set, 7-6, thanks to a big-time 7-5 tiebreaker. Davila needed less time to win the second set, 6-3. Meanwhile, Emma Smith cruised at #5, 6-2, 6-0. Caroline Chandler earned the easiest win of the day, dominating her #6 opponent, 6-0, 6-0.
