Baseball Crushes Bearcats to Continue Strong Spring Start

The Blue Streaks pushed across 23 runs vs. Saint Vincent College

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The John Carroll Blue Streaks continued their hot start to the 2025 season on Thursday with a massive offensive performance against the St. Vincent Bearcats, 23-6.

While the Blue Streaks managed to collect a total of 23 hits on Thursday, it was senior Jack Harmon and junior Ethan Glossa who knocked in 10 of the 23 runs scored. The duo also went a combined 6-for-9 with two doubles.

JCU's momentum came from a 6-run second inning, as freshman Dominic Trivisanno kicked it off with a RBI double. This was followed by a tactical effort from the Blue Streaks when sophomore George Haracz and senior Michael Persichetti pushed across two more runs. The monstrous inning ended with Glossa and senior Sean Fritinger tacking on three more, thanks to a single and a 2-run double.

It was John Carroll's impressive sixth inning that put the nail in the coffin. Glossa, Trivisanno, Harmon, and Persichetti added to their RBI totals throughout the inning, while Michael Pollard, Carson Balfour, and Connor Mayle joined with RBIs of their own. The ten-run inning was capped off with a 2-run triple from Dylan Sowers to give JCU a whopping 22-4 lead.

Sowers was part of the Blue Streaks' incredible play off the bench, as Balfour, Sowers, and Thomas Bates went 5-for-7 with 5 RBIs.

It wasn't just the offense that shined for the Blue Streaks on Thursday, as senior Owen Gerba and first year Noah Trojanowski held it down for the pitchers. The two arms combined for a clean 4.2 innings of work while also tallying four strikeouts a piece.

Trojanowski's impressive day on the mound was his first collegiate appearance, making it a perfect way to end the contest for red-hot Blue Streaks.

After Thursday's victory, John Carroll now holds a 5-1 record this season, while also outscoring opponents 60-33.
