Men's Swimming & Diving Races Past BW, Wilmington to Cap off Regular Season

The Blue Streaks did especially well on Saturday's Senior Day

The Blue Streaks enjoyed quite the nice weekend. 

John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving capped off the regular season with back-to-back Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet triumphs.

In Berea, John Carroll notched a victory over Baldwin Wallace on Friday evening, and then returning home on Saturday, the Blue Streaks secured a win over Wilmington to celebrate Senior Day.

Results 

From the start, the Blue Streaks controlled the meet, epitomized by a 1-2 finish for starters in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. David Miller, Bart Kubis, Bryce Liddell, and Daniel Argalious tore through the water for the winning time of 1:35.60. 

Zach Marinis got the ball rolling with the individual events, taking the cake with a winning time of 10:04.76 in the 1000 Free. Sam Kmet and Andrew Chiappetta completed the top-3 sweep. 

In the shorter 200 Free, Cameron Cook rolled to a win of 1:46.16. The Fredericksburg, Virginia native rolled for a clear victory later on, besting the field in the 200 Back with a mark of 1:57.30. 

To no surprise, Argalious tore through the water in the 50 Free, winning by nearly a second with a triumphant time of 21.04. Fellow star junior Joe Nadur looked similarly fast, doing his thing in the 400 IM with a first-place mark of 4:10.92. 

Patrick Branch showed his stuff in the 100 Free, clocking in at 47.62 for the top spot. Bryce Liddell followed at 48.44 for second. Sticking with the freestyle, Luis Aguilar conquered the competition by nearly 10 seconds in the 500 Free, mowing through the water with a mark of 5:03.93. Aidan Hulseman and Bailey Parsons rounded out the top three. 

Bart Kubis, ever the fast swimmer, notched a win in the 200 Breaststroke. The star tallied a time of 2:09.41 for first, followed by Ian Hofmann and Branch.  

The evening concluded with another 1-2 punch in the 200 Free Relay. Cook, Kyle Priset, Miller, and Argalious bested the field with a time of 1:26.14.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A festive Senior Day at the Johnson Natatorium providing a fitting end to a wonderful regular season for the Blue Streaks.

The victory also marked the final dual meet in the OAC for John Carroll. 

Results 

Following a stirring Senior Day, John Carroll kicked off the meet by conquering the 200 Medley Relay. David Miller, Bart Kubis, Bryce Liddell, and Daniel Argalious combined for a time of 1:34.26, by a three-second margin. 

Sam Kmet opened the fun in the individual events, notching first place in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:09.34. Jacob Burton and Aidan Hulseman joined him in the top three. 

Kubis continued a strong showing, rolling to first place in the 100 Breaststroke in 58.17. Ian Hofmann trailed him in second. The duo did it again later in the 200 Breaststroke with a 1-2 finish in the same order. Kubis' time of 2:11.66 won the day. 

Miller nabbed first in the 100 Back, clocking in at 53.27. Luke Novak and Logan Snively finished the top-three sweep. In the 200 Back. Novak took a turn getting the glory, winning the event with a mark of 1:59.51, followed by Miller this time. 

Joe Nadur notched a nice win in the 200 Fly. The star junior tallied a time of 2:01.29. Luis Aguilar and Kaden Abke completed the top-three sweep. Nadur nabbed another win later in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.58. Branch and Aguilar rounded out the top three sweep. 

Argalious provided JCU with momentum entering the first diving break, earning a win in the 50 Free with a soaring time of 21.04. 

Coming out of the break, Cameron Cook grabbed a victory for the Blue & Gold in the 100 Free, flashing for a time of 47.86, while Priset followed in second. Novak kept the train rolling, winning the 200 Back with a mark of 1:59.51, trailed by Miller. 

Zach Marinis did his usual strong work in the 500 Free, providing a winning time of 4:56.01, with Owen Holm earning second. Soon after, Wilmington won its first event in the 100 Fly, but Bryce Lidell and Kyle Priset notched second and third. 

JCU capped off the day by conquering the 200 Free Relay. Cook, Holm, Branch, and Argalious did the honors with a mark of 1:25.79. 

Next Up
John Carroll will now prepare for the final run in the OAC, the 2025 OAC Championships at the University of Akron from February 12-15.
