SOUTH EUCLID -- While a couple star swimmers competed on the national stage at the U.S. Open, the majority of John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving hopped on the bus for a quick trip to South Euclid.

On Friday evening, Notre Dame College hosted John Carroll and Oberlin for a nice non-conference event between local squads.

The meet was scored as a double dual meet. John Carroll earned a 187-24 win over NDC and a 162-53 conquest of Oberlin.

The Blue Streaks started with a triumph in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. It was a fun mix of youth and veterans, as Luke Novak, Joe Nadur, Owen Holm, and Michael Heller worked well together for a time of 1:35.96.

Aidan O'Neill kept the wins coming with a first-place time in the 200 Free at 1:48.63. Jacob Farr finished close behind at 1:49.09. Another victory followed in the 100 IM. Nadur scored a time of 52.61, winning by over a two-second margin.

The 50 Free was a Blue Streak party on the podium. Daniel Argalious took the cake, winning the event with a time of 21.74. Heller (21.88) and Bryce Liddell (22.07) showed out with second and third-place efforts for the men of University Heights.

JCU's speedsters were back at it shortly after in the 100 Fly. This time, it was Liddell's time to shine, as the sophomore snagged the win with a time of 51.88. Holm snatched second at 52.47 and Argalious completed the sweep with a mark of 54.25.

Farr and Nadur tag-teamed the 100 Free, shining bright with a 1-2 finish. Farr got the crown with a time of 48.23. Nadur clocked in at 48.38.

Aidan O'Neill clocked in at second in the 500 Free with a time of 4:58.99, while Patrick Branch made his event debut by tallying third with a time of 5:03.72.

The Blue Streaks trotted out a young quartet in the 200 Free Relay, and the move paid dividends. Holm, Liddell, Branch, and Argalious teamed up for a winning time of 1:27.96. JCU also took third, with Joseph Kaiser, Novak, Aidan O'Neill, and Owen O'Neill tabbing a time of 1:31.18.

The visitors rocked the party in the 100 Back. Jonathan Simoes won the day with a time of 54.21. Novak finished literally right next to him at 54.22 for second. Billy Harvey (57.00) and Nicholas Mudry (57.34) got fourth and fifth.

Nadur nabbed first in the 100 Breaststroke, rounding out his day with a time of 58.97. Kaiser clinched third with a time of 1:03.81.

The day concluded with the 400 Free Relay, which was a successful ending. Branch, Holm, Aidan O'Neill, and Liddell marked down a winning time of 3:14.06. Simoes, Heller, Harvey, and Argalious impressed, too, finishing second with a time of 3:20.60.

The diving was won by the Blue Streaks, as it was not contested simultaneously, since NDC does not have a diving well. Evan Anderson made his debut, winning the 1 Meter Diving with a score of 100.50.

John Carroll returns to action after finals week, heading to Findlay on December 17.
