Box Score PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. -- A strong 2021 campaign for the Blue Streaks came to an end in the Peach State on Saturday.

In a Saturday morning affair in the Second Round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships, John Carroll University Women's Tennis fell to Williams College, 5-0.

With the defeat, the Blue Streaks conclude the season with a 9-1 record.

The Ephs, a Division III tennis powerhouse, started the day with a doubles sweep. The 10-time National Champs opened with a No. 2 doubles conquest. Alyssa Krupp and Mia Zivkovic, typically a dominant duo, surrendered a rare 8-0 defeat. The senior-freshman combo were outstanding all season long, and deserve plenty of praise.

Megan Reese and Skye Harwood also formed a formidable duo all season long at No. 1 doubles. Unfortunately, they couldn't break through with a win, falling, 8-2.

Jaclyn Voss and Emily Day also drew a defeat at No. 3. The dynamic duo lost, 8-2, after a great season of working together.

With a 3-0 deficit heading into singles, the Blue Streaks had their work cutout for them. Megan Reese experienced a 1-6, 2-6 loss at No. 1 singles, bringing the Ephs to the verge of a win.

Jenny Tian did the honors for Williams, defeating Alyssa Krupp, 6-0, 6-0 to finalize the win at No. 2 and a punch ticket to the next round for the Ephs.

At the time of the clinch, Mia Zivkovic was engaged in a battle at No. 3 singles, 5-7, 0-1. Skye Harwood was behind 0-6, 1-5 at No. 4 singles. Voss was also in the midst of an intense dual at No. 5, 2-6, 0-4. Day was also in a pitched battle at No. 6, 4-6, 2-1.

The Blue Streaks have ended the season at the NCAA Championships five times in the last six seasons after COVID-19 ended last year early.

"I'm so proud of this team," said Head Coach Shaun Keenan. "They battled through all kinds of adversity this season, especially in a COVID year. Each player progressed so much over the course of the season. I'm so grateful for our seniors, as they displayed great leadership this year and showed our young players how it's done. For our underclassmen, I can't wait for next season."
