Women's Tennis Sails Past Fighting Muskies on Friday Night

Box Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- With the 2021 spring campaign entering the home stretch, John Carroll University Women's Tennis is in great shape.

The Blue Streaks bested the Muskingum Fighting Muskies on Friday night at Ursuline College, 9-0.

With the victory, the Blue Streaks stay undefeated with a 4-0 record.

Megan Reese opened the singles competition with a 6-1, 6-2 conquest at No. 1 singles. Reese has been a team leader in singles and doubles all season.

Alyssa Krupp also cruised to a victory, earning a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 2 singles spot. Mia Zivkovic did great work at No. 3 singles, earning a double bagel win, 6-0, 6-0.

Skye Harwood faced a fierce foe in Kayla Hall at No. 4 singles. Harwood captured the first set, 6-0, before falling the second set, 6-2. The tiebreaking set proved to be a battle, as Harwood finally secured a 10-5 victory in the third set after a lengthy affair.

Jaclyn Voss secured a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles for JCU's second double bagel of the day. Emily Duckett saw her first action of 2021 at No. 6 singles, corralling a 6-3, 6-3 win.

Reese and Harwood teamed up as per usual at No. 1 doubles. The veterans rolled to an 8-0 conquest over Muskingum's top duo. Krupp and Zivkovic worked together again at No. 2 doubles, and also cornered a wide win, 8-1.

Claire Colbaugh and Anna Vitale got their first action of the season at No. 3 doubles. Both performed quite well, as the duo completed the day with a 8-3 triumph.

A road match at Baldwin Wallace and a home game vs. Otterbein next week will complete the regular season for the Blue Streaks next week.
