Women's Soccer Defeated by ONU in Sunday Matinee

| By:
Box Score UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- John Carroll University Women's Soccer experienced a loss against Ohio Northern University, 2-0.

The Blue Streaks dropped to 2-3 with Sunday's loss to the Polar Bears.

Both teams started off with consistent defensive plays on both sides and no attempts by either team for a goal.

The pace was steady for the beginning of the first half until ONU decided to change that.

The Polar Bears began to kick up the energy and with that there was a swift change of pace. ONU put one in to score the first goal of the game and take the lead 1-0.

After the goal mid-way through the first half, the Blue Streaks were still playing it safe as the Polar Bears were cranking up the heat.

The Polar Bears took that advantage and jumped at the opportunity to score again towards the ending of the first half, increasing their lead to 2-0.

ONU kept the majority of possessions for the first half leading up to halftime with no score from the Blue Streaks going into the second half.

At the half, the score was 2-0 with ONU in the lead.

After the half, the Blue Streaks began to pick it up defensively, but could not gain traction on offense. ONU kept the pace they left with and continued to keep the majority of possessions in the beginning of the second half.

JCU was starting to run out of time to match the Polar Bears' two goals in an effort to tie the game. But as the clock kept ticking, the chance for the Blue Streaks to bring up the momentum in an attempt to score was getting smaller and smaller.

The Blue Streaks ended up falling to Ohio Northern 2-0.

JCU Women's Soccer will face Baldwin Wallace University at Don Shula Stadium on April 1 with kickoff starting at 7 p.m.
