Women's Tennis Splits Its Weekend Series With Tigers And Fighting Scots

The John Carroll women's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2019-20 campaign Saturday by beating host College of Wooster, 6-3.

Later in the day, the Blue Streaks fell to nationally ranked DePauw (#38 in ITA/Oracle rankings), 9-0.

So far this season, JCU had faced Division I Cleveland State and Division II University of Charleston before picking up the win over Wooster.

In doubles play, the #2 tandem of Kathryn Mattimoe and Alyssa Krupp won by an 8-0 score, while Roslyn Ng and Emily Day collected an 8-3 win in the #3 match.

Megan Reese (#1), Krupp (#3), Skye Harwood (#4) and Ellie Cole (#6) all won in singles play to claim the match for the Blue Streaks.

Later that same day, JCU ran into a very good DePauw Tigers team. The loss dropped the Blue Streaks to 1-3 on the year.

Cole extended her #6 singles matches to a third set tiebreak, but lost 10-7.
